We are too!As a temporary Case Manager 2 you will provide rental and housing assistance, economic stability supports, food access, advocacy resources and opportunities to low-income families, children and individuals directly impacted by COVID-19. This work is done by a qualified staff who conducts intakes, determines eligibility, assess needs and works to find resources and opportunities to assist individuals and families to meet their needs. These temporary staff will perform these duties with a trauma informed and racially just approach.We are seeking bilingual Spanish and bilingual Somali candidates to fill these positions to serve our communities.This Work Matters – watch our video to learn more.Primary responsibilities include:* Provide direct client services with individuals and families directly impacted by COVID 19, at Bienestar de la Familia* Provide initial screening, intake and eligibility determination for rent assistance and other social service supports for individuals and families directly impacted by COVID-19* Connect with landlords on behalf of clients to ensure rent assistance will prevent eviction. (It is estimated that COVID-19 Rent Assistance service delivery will comprise 90% of work time compared to other supports outlined)* Accurately complete all required paperwork, client flow processes and data entry, as assigned* Assess client needs and risk status through phone call interviews, in-person sessions, or through a virtual platform* Assist clients in finding resources for clothing, food, and basic needs. Assist clients to apply for food benefits such as SNAP or WIC, or other public benefits. All of which alleviate the stress and impacts of COVID-19* Participate in projects led by Bienestar and the YFS Division, including (but not necessarily limited to) food access and deliver,for those impacted by COVID-19* Engage with supervisor, team members and colleagues around effective service delivery* Actively engage in team meetings, trainings and community events on behalf of Bienestar de la Familia* Engage in training and related professional development to learn and practice all data collection and reporting tools required for record-keeping and tracking* Complete all required client data tracking through Program specific and community wide tracking tools* Engage in processes &/or team discussions to refine such tools, as necessary* Enter timely and accurate data in ServicePoint, as assignedSuccessful case managers have:* Ability to promote a culture of respect, inclusiveness, and appreciation of diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and values* Knowledge of principles and practices of case management for people impacted by intellectual and/or developmental disabilities* Ability to stay on top of the clerical duties so the client work stays up to date* Ability to multi-task and prioritize* Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills* Commitment to delivering person-centered care* Comfort and competence with using standard technologyTO QUALIFY:We will consider any combination of relevant work experience, volunteering, education, and transferable skills as qualifying unless an item or section is labeled required.
