OfficeTeam Beaverton is anticipating the need for several highly skilled and experienced Patient Services Representatives, to assist our client in the Hillsboro, OR. Area. This is a temporary position slated to last 4 months, and offers a full-time, Monday-Friday work schedule. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced work environment and provide excellent customer service to all patients. This position is a great opportunity to continue to develop your experience in the healthcare industry.

On an average day, the Patient Services Representative:

  • Accepts referrals, verifies for completeness and appropriateness, communicating with referral sources to obtain additional information as needed.
  • Creates and maintains patient charts. Assures that charts contain MD referral orders, past medical records, documents required for clinical use, documents for patient signature.
  • Obtains confidential information from patient or family member, including demographic, financial, and medical.
  • Pre-registers patients into the patient accounting system, verifies insurance, verifies co-payment requirements and obtains/completes all necessary authorizations.
  • Researches and clears problems identified by patient accounting systems required to ensure complete and appropriate billing
  • May post billing charges and collection of cash/credit receipts to patient accounts.
  • Schedules patients for initial and follow-up appointments and maintains data in computerized scheduling program.

Job Requirements:

What you’ll need to succeed in this role:

  • 2+ years of administrative experience in healthcare or experience in a medical office setting.
  • Prior experience utilizing and EMR/EHR system, as well as general computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite
  • General knowledgeable about medical terminology, HIPPA compliance, and insurance products and plans
  • Experience with multi-line phone systems preferred
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills, plus a personable and approachable demeanor
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to effectively prioritize work, and strong multi-tasking skills
