Chairperson of Primary Care Job Locations US-OR-The Dalles Overview We are currently seeking a Chairperson of Primary Care to join our medical staff at Mid-Columbia Medical Center.

The chairperson of Primary Care will develop and implement a strategic plan for the provision of primary care rural health clinic services at Mid-Columbia Medical Center in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer.

Strategic planning and implementation will occur in an interdisciplinary format within a four-cornerstone model of accountability to incorporate leadership in surgical specialties, medical specialties, and hospital based practices.

A successful candidate has a highly collaborative approach, and if selected, will work with the Executive Team, the Medical Executive Committee, Clinic Operations leadership, and OHSU representatives when appropriate to help to direct and maintain quality of care in primary care.

The incumbent will perform all responsibilities in alignment with Planetree-model of interaction with patients, all levels of employees, as well as MCMC’s organizational mission, values and objectives.

Responsibilities The Chairperson of Primary Care is responsible for clinically related activities of the department; administratively related activities of the department; oversight of professional performance; recommending of clinical privileges; assessing future needs of patient population; integrating the department’s services into the primary function of the organization; coordination of interdepartmental services; developing and implementing policy and procedures that guide care, treatment and services; recommending number of qualified staff; oversight of the continuous assessment and improvement of quality of care provided; recommending space and other needed resources for the provision of care; and recommending the appropriate orientation and continuing education of all persons in the department.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will be a licensed MD/DO with board certification in a medical specialty, hold Senior Active Medical Staff Privileges at Mid-Columbia Medical Center, and have experience in developing, implementing and evaluating clinical programs.

Proven experience in leading teams, building positive internal and external professional relationships, and strong familiarity with EPIC are required.
