Staff Accountant, Cash

This is a Full-time position in Beaverton, OR posted May 1, 2021.

Summary :Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant is responsible for performing day-to-day operational accounting duties, including but not limited to preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.

This position will primarily focus on cash, special pricing agreements, gross margin adjustments analysis, and accruals and adjustments.

Responsibilities: Prepare month end journal entries and reconciliations Reconcile bank accounts and research/explain/resolve variances Assist branch to resolve cash related issues Work with buyers and other departments to research/explain/resolve gross margin adjustments Analyze and prepare expense accruals Compile branch profit and loss statements for commission purposes Assist in internal and external audits and other accounting tasks or projects as needed Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 2-3 years’ experience in a similar position Strong technical knowledge of accounting rules and practices Strong Excel Skills including proficiency in pivot tables, lookups and ability to manipulate data Strong attention to detail and ability to trace general ledger entries back to sub ledger systems Ability to research variances independently and effectively explain findings Ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines Ability to work overtime during month end close and year end Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, works well with people from different background and with different styles Preferred: Distribution Company experience Language Skills: Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to effectively communicate with customers and staff to make an accurate assessment of customer and branch needs.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to verify and calculate figures such as cost, commissions, credit, rebate and profit, understand and interpret financial data and reports and balance sheets.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.

Ability to use sound judgment and problem solving skills to analyze customer, branch and employee problems and to recommend the proper course of action.

Ability to organize and prioritize job projects and requirements.
